T A G Philosophy
We dig deeper to understand how the spaces we design will impact human behavior. A deep understanding of the problem allows us to deliver the right solution that creates meanings and values to the society we are serving.
we always saying that the center piece of ethics of architecture is the impact that architecture has on the life of those who experience it.
, the ethic of architecture is the impact on our daily life how it is affecting our behaviors and comfort, design is not just about how the building look, it is about how your body feels on that seat in that space, how the building fits in its context and create kind of dialogue with its surroundings, how the building respect the environment of its place and enhance the quality of the way we live work and play. We create a responsive architecture.
Sustainability: We need to understand how the materials are manufactured and sourced. We know that the harvesting, manufacturing, and transportation raw materials used for construction are responsible for more than 10% of global emission. Structure is the most part responsible of this, three materials (concrete, iron, and steel) while wood is less 5 times than steel, the longer materials used in building the better(structure), while the furniture and interior finishes are lower in carbon emission, however because they tend to be replaced frequently, they can go as high as the structure itself in carbon emissions
Environmental factor (global warming); It is not only we burn fossil fuel for heating and cooling most of our buildings, but construction itself is responsible for plenty of global warming, it is time for design to focus more on climate change. improving the energy efficiency and radically decarbonizing the building industry is essential. LEED is great program focusing on decreasing the operational carbon, which our design needs to follow.
as I believe that the urban realm and spaces between buildings are as important as the buildings themselves. the health of the city is measured by the vitality of its open spaces
Cities around the world coming terribly homogenized, cities 100 years back were about differences that reflects the climate and the culture of the place, now everything looks alike, that is something we need to fight and find an indigenous response to the building in each part of the world to maintain its identity and uniqueness
Great design should start with a strong concept – and the strategic sketches created early on must tell a powerful story that can be appreciated by anyone who sees or interacts with the finished building.
architecture is not just about creating visually appealing structures, but about creating spaces that resonate with the culture, history, and social context of the people who will use them. That idea of responsive architecture is powerful because it recognizes that every building has a unique role to play in its environment, beyond just aesthetics.
The relationship between form and function is a fascinating debate in architecture. architecture needing to respond to its place and time is an intriguing middle ground, suggesting that both the past (history, culture) and present (modern needs, technological advances) influence the design.
There’s something deeply intuitive about sketching by hand—it’s not just a tool for drawing, but a way to explore ideas and emotions that might be harder to express through a digital medium. The physical act of drawing connects the mind with the body in a way that fosters creativity and experimentation. The pencil, paper, and even the imperfections of freehand sketches allow for a kind of organic flow that can’t quite be replicated by software.
the computer as more of a form-making tool rather than a form-finding tool. While digital tools are undeniably useful for refining and finalizing ideas, they can sometimes limit the freedom that comes with the tactile process of sketching. Sketching allows for that raw, spontaneous exploration of ideas, which is essential in the early conceptual stages. The computer, in contrast, often requires you to think in more defined, precise terms right from the start.
